. . . The Photographer
You could say that, in a sense, I began my business by accident.  Several years ago, a friend of mine had begun to pursue a career in acting and needed portfolio photos, but couldnt afford a professional photographer.  I pulled out my trusty 35mm point-and-shoot and went to work.  The photos came out great and I started getting calls from friends and family to do photo shoots for them, too.  I began taking senior pictures for graduating students and engagement photos for happy couples.  After a couple years I finally decided it was time to invest in some professional equipment, take a few classes, and discovered a new passion in the process: capturing the special moments and memories of others... stories that can be shared for generations!

. . . The Designer

I have been creating fliers, business cards, brochures, wedding invitations and graduation announcements for nearly 10 years.  I have completed courses in Digital Imaging and Graphic Communication and primarily design using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign (I am also familiar with Dreamweaver, Quark and Microsoft Publisher).  My clients include: Banchero Hardwoods, Potter’s House Christian Fellowship (Seattle), River Bend Custom Hardwoods LLC, Seattle University, and numerous individuals.  Contact me to set-up a consultation for your next design project.

. . . Education
My Bachelor of Arts degree is from Seattle University.

My most memorable photography experience

One of my favorite weddings to date was an outdoor ceremony this past August.  A perfectly planned wedding when Mother Nature decided that Seattle doesn’t get nearly enough rain all year round and decided to drown us all in August.  I’d like to think I saved the day with my stash of umbrellas including one burgundy and brown floral I chose because it perfectly coordinated to the wedding colors.  That umbrella really made those ceremony photos pop!  You can’t get anymore ‘Seattle’ than a bride getting married under an umbrella held up by her “Man of Honor!”

My favorite past time or hobby

Photography… that’s why I became a photographer!  Capturing the spontaneity of children is my favorite. That, and the look on the face of a young woman when she first sees the photo of herself that makes her feel really beautiful!  That’s what made me fall in love with photography to begin with.

I can't live without…

The three C’s: Cameras, Caffeine, and Cosmetics.

My favorite comfort food

Double tall nonfat vanilla latte (extra hot in the winter) and Gramma’s special steak dinners with baked potatoes and her famous pork and beans.

My favorite movie

Top 3: Crash, Usual Suspects and Inglorious Basterds (this list is subject to change with my mood, but as of the moment, these are my favorites)

My favorite musician

Bob Dylan.

People I'd like to meet

Richard Avedon.
He's so great, maybe the greatest. He defines a particular period in America for me in the same way as Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol and Walker Evans. Avedon is such a personal photographer as well, which is ironic, considering he called his collection simply Evidence. He is also a photographer in the real sense of the word. He never tries to be anything else but someone who takes pictures. A classic imagemaker.” –David Bailey

Who I'd like to photograph:
Everyone!  I am continually drawn to and intrigued by the uniqueness yet commonness of humanity.

Dog, cat, or other

Lola, my spunky little mutt
